Uxu Kalhus is a project that has been in existence for 21 years dedicated to the reinvention of traditional Portuguese music.

Reinvention because it places it in a universe of fusion making use, on the one hand, of acoustic and electric instruments in improbable dialogues and, on the other hand, the intersection, often extreme, of styles and influences when arranging for themes from Portuguese songbooks and/or in the composition of original music.

In 2006 they released their first record named A Revolta dos Badalos; Groove Transhumance in 2009; 10 years of Folk in Portuguese (DVD recorded live at Festival Andanças) and Extravagante in 2012, this album being the starting point for a show that brings together on the same stage, Uxu Kalhus and a Philharmonic Band (Extravagant Philharmonic).

In 2019, Uxu Kalhus published the album Enleio, that marks a new cycle of electroacoustic exploration, where new and old musical instruments merge into unique textures creating ambiances of melodic and harmonic eccentricity.

Along the way, Uxu Kalhus played more than 900 concerts in Europe and Asia.
