ALG EVENTOS ARTIST’S AT FESTIVAL MED 2024

Once again, ALG Eventos is taking various artists to the MED Festival, an event taking place between June 27 and 30 in Loulé.
Here’s a brief description of the projects we’re presenting in this edition.

In addition to music, our collaboration with the MED Festival also includes technical direction and production, as well as the provision of structures.

More than 600 bands, representing 50 countries, have already had the opportunity to shine at MED, voted the Best Lusophone and Hispanic Festival in the Iberian Peninsula, the most recent distinction received in 2020.

This collective has been shaking up sound systems all over the world since 2010, offering a new angle on the ancestral Afro-Caribbean rhythm known internationally as Cumbia.

This is the new force in Kinshasa’s effervescent music scene, with an innovative proposal that captures the vibrant and chaotic urban life of the Congolese capital.

The artistic project AÏTA was born out of a deep fascination with the Chikhates – the Moroccan singers and poets who preserve a tradition dating back to the 12th century.

Quartet from Réunion island, led by charismatic singer-songwriter Franswa Virassamy-Macé. Their music is a hypnotic and electrifying blend of psych rock, pop, traditional rhythms from Réunion and contemporary electronic production.

JOÃO FRADE TRIO CONVIDA MIRON RAFAJLOVIC

CASTELO STAGE – 21h30

Hailing from the Algarve, he is a talented accordionist who is widely recognized both in Portugal and internationally. Here at MED, João Frade’s trio is transformed by the special addition of Miron Rafajlović, a jazz trumpeter who has won several Grammy awards.

Ballaké Sissoko showed with his intense and profound interpretation of “Nan Sira Madi”, the piece that opens the extraordinary album “A Touma”, how the art he creates has universal appeal and how, even so, he perfectly translates the soul of the Malian people with his kora.

Eneida Marta & Huca is one of the most genuine and vibrant African voices and a true ambassador for the music of Guinea-Bissau. In this new edition of MED, Eneida challenges Mozambican artist Bruno Huca to accompany her on stage on June 29.

Raia is the synthesis project of Alentejo musician António Bexiga, who uses the sounds of the viola campaniça, in its acoustic and electric, analog and digital, traditional and experimental frontiers, in dialogue with other forms of art, visual or performance.
