“[…] A great integration of Balkan and Italian brass-band styles, local traditional music, Middle Eastern tempos and new songs from their home sung in the local dialect”
BandAdriatica, one of the most exciting Italian live acts at the moment.
Bastiaan Springer – fRoots (UK)
“[…] at Fira of Manresa 2015 the big surprise was BandAdriatica… it was like a bolt from the blue… and it sent an important message to the world: the music of balkan brass is perhaps along a dead end, but Italians are able to do more …”
Petr Dor?žka (CZ)
“This is an interesting project that superbly integrates new composition with roots and demonstrates how easily music can cross national and linguistic barriers.”
Michael Hingston – Folk Roots (UK)
"A blind look into Odissea… They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Well in this album, a song is worth a thousand pictures."
Kim Strettle - Musik Magazine (UK)
Transported by the Adriatic winds, the BandAdriatica comes from Apulia with an original and disruptive proposal that mixes the suggestions of the Italian band —which animates the parties, the processions and funerals with its deep and ancestral sound — with the virtuosity and energy of Balkan music and the influences and suggestions of North Africa: a fantastic "Odyssey" - just like the title of the last album (2018).
Eight musicians with an extraordinary section of winds and a musically refined proposal completed by and a stage presence enriched by fun and engaging "choreographic" movements create a powerful and explosive result that releases a lot of energy able to engage the audience in a big party.
Selected at Babel Med (FR) and Fira Mediterrania de Manresa (ES), BandAdriatica performed also a lof of international festivals such as Zürcher Theater Spektakel (CH), Zomer van Antwerpen (BE), Vidor Fesztivál (HU), International Gipsy Festival (NL), Babel Sound Fesztivál (HU), Malta World Music Festival (MT), Festival MéditerranéO’ Confluences (FR) and many others.LINE UPCLAUDIO PRIMA organetto, vocals | EMANUELE COLUCCIA alto sax | ANDREA PERRONE trumpetVINCENZO GRASSO clarinet | GAETANO CARROZZO trombone | MORRIS PELLIZZARI guitarsGIUSEPPE SPEDICATO bass | OVIDIO VENTUROSO drums
